Together for qualified specialists in the heat pump sector
On 2. and On April 3, 2025, the 16th EU exchange meeting of the BUILD UP Skills Initiative took place in Brussels – a Europe-wide networking meeting for projects related to further training in the building sector. As part of an interactive workshop, Thomas Roßkopf from the Vorarlberg Energy Institute presented our KnowHowHP project.

Europe-wide exchange
The aim of the meeting was to bring together representatives from all over Europe to discuss solutions to the skills shortage in the field of sustainable building technology. In addition to KnowHowHP, other innovative projects such as HeatCraftHP, RE-ENERGISE and SKILSAFE EU were also presented. The variety of topics ranged from training courses on emission-free buildings to digital learning platforms and the integration of renewable energies in the building sector.
National roadmaps as signposts
Another focus of the meeting was the exchange on national qualification strategies. In moderated group discussions – accompanied by project consultants from the EU agency CINEA – countries such as Austria, Italy, France and the Netherlands presented their current roadmaps for skilled labour development. The structured exchange enabled the participants to learn from each other and take away impulses for the further development of their national strategies.
